All insightsWordPress or Sulu — when does each make sense?
8. February 2026 · 5 min read
Both systems have their place. The question is not which one is better — but which one fits your project. A comparison without fluff.
WordPress: fast, widespread, proven
WordPress is the most widely used content management system in the world. It is quick to set up, widely adopted, and a solid choice for many use cases. Its popularity means: many developers, many plugins, many solutions.
WordPress is particularly suitable when:
- The website needs to go online quickly
- The budget is limited
- The requirements are clearly defined and manageable
Sulu: professional, clean, long-term
Sulu is less well known — but the better choice for companies thinking long-term. The system works without external plugins. This makes it faster, more stable, and significantly more secure.
Sulu is particularly suitable when:
- The website needs to be multilingual
- You want to grow and expand it over time
- You value security and performance
- The backend should be usable without technical knowledge
My recommendation
I recommend Sulu for anyone looking for a clean, long-lasting solution. WordPress remains a good option when speed and budget are the main priorities. Both systems have their place — the decision depends on your project.
